http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Fettuccine-with-Brussels-Sprouts-and-Pine-Nuts-240591
Delicious.
Also, tonight, instead of Brussel Sprouts, I added Kale and bit of bacon.
Still delicious. Burned pine nuts made me little sad though-
Yum yum.

50--55min 325 degree oven
Mix these dry ingredients together and then mix these with the wet ingredients.

The Black Skirts, Korean Indie Band.
I know, I know. Who knew Korea actually had something other than K-pop? Their songs sound like those of American, or even Canadian indie bands! The band is gaining enough popularity that a review said "there are two groups of people that naver-search (google) 'Black Skirts'; one looking for generic black skirts, and the other trying to find out more about the band, 'the Black Skirts.'"
Bye bye, the days and years that I got picked on because only Korean music available was K-pop! No more picking on me friends.
Antifreeze - the Black Skirts
Ever since so long ago, we were helpless.
Floating around the universe, all by ourselves,
Feeling oh so lonely.
We will understand what they all mean ,
once sun and moon collide together.
The rain was falling from sky
soaking my bones
then stopped
but it started snowing.
When the snowstorm climaxed
Finally you were the first pair of eyes that I saw
Even if the familiar streets are glittering with ice,
Even if a cup of coffee you handed me is frozen on top
We will be so warm
that even sands in the bottom of the sea would melt
We will dance through this iced asphalt city
fighting this loneliness.
In this cold chocking air
your warmth is permeating through my body
We will be so warm
that even sands in the bottom of the sea would melt
We will dance through this iced asphalt city
fighting this loneliness.
What if you and I are the last generation to survive
what if the next ice age comes
Ever-lasting love does not exist
but I am looking for someone waiting for that love to come.
Ever-lasting love does not exist
but I am looking for someone waiting for that love to come.

Brickskeller, DC Aug 9, 2010
Kelly and I tend to take the most out of our so-called "happy hours." We recently found this bar nearby Dupont, close to work, and have visited there enough to learn the bartender's name. (Florencia!)
Yesterday, we stopped by Brickskeller after work. Early-evening summer heat in D.C. is quite something, especially with the rush-hour traffic honking and fuming heat on Massachusetts Ave., and we figured a drink will not hurt too much.
We ended up drinking two 750ml bottles of beer. We justified that each person has to drink at least one. We were sufficiently buzzed after the first glass of the second bottle though.
This time, we started out with our favorite English Stout, "St. Peter's" (6.5 Abv).
We discovered this last week and enjoyed it immensely after finishing heavy and thick Unibroue's Terrible and 17th Anniversary Special. This 500ml bottle of beer is dark black with little lacing, has a sweet milk-coffee flavor, and goes down very lightly with clean aftertaste. It is very pleasant to drink by itself that you almost cannot feel any alcohol in it. Also, having no bitter-aftertaste is definitely a huge plus. I definitely love the bottle-design as well. I meant to keep the empty bottle, but forgot it.

Because our sweet-potato fries came out too late, we had to order another one. We were debating between something from Victory Brewery or Great Divide, until Florencia kindly suggested that she would go back and bring out some unlisted, new bottles for us to pick. Of course, she brought out the most excellent ones, and we were happy to choose this one:
Dogfish Head Brewery did it again. Sah'tea has a chi-tea flavor! It has a beautiful yellow-gold color with slightly cloudy body. It pours thicker than St. Peter's Stout but is still very quaffable. After taking a sip, I could feel chi-tea scent permeating in my mouth. It had a sharper and crispier taste than I expected, and chi-tea flavor and scent definitely mask alcohol very well. Because Kelly and I both like tea, we thought this was a very nice combination.
Both bottles were extremely good, though the check was definitely more than I expected. Still, we will probably stop by this place at least once very two weeks or so.
Next Beer: Ommegang BPA.

New York City August 6 - 8, 2010
After almost three months of living in D.C., I figured that it was about time to venture outside of it and take a break. I hurried out of the work on Friday to make the Megabus at 7:00pm. I felt like a college freshman who gets to go home for the first time since the first day in college.
I enjoyed a dollar pizza, my first White Castle burger, avocado breakfast, New York's most delicious bagel, walk by the Hudson River, outdoor concerts outside of the Lincoln Center where I stood and danced like a maniac, and Columbia with Colin and Adam. Every minute was precious, every word shared, meaningful. It was truly relaxing to be around people that I am familiar with.
I did not need an expensive concert or exclusive club to have a grand time. What matters is people that you are with, and having the best time with them with given resources. It is definitely something that I have to remember.
I came back to D.C. at 10:30pm, and got home at midnight. I am extremely exhausted, but I might use the bus to get up to NYC more often...

Artzy things I have done so far include:
- Purchasing an annual membership to the Phillips Collection, which is known to have the most exceptional collection of modern and contemporary art. It has a room for Rothko.
- Visiting the National Art Gallery the first weekend I came down to D.C. Edvard Munch exhibition is going on right now until October so I am planning on visiting again.
- Attending a figure-drawing session.
- Spending over $30 on in an art store.
- Drawing at night.
- And being little bit obsessed with Yves Klein and Gustav Caillebotte.
Now I am out of school, I feel as if I am free to pursue what I like.
